Secret Treehouse is a Bergen-based pop orchestra, set out on an everlasting quest to find to perfect melody. This search is set in a realm where guitar-driven rock meets energetic electronic pop. It is all about cultivating the resistance and opposites in the soundscapes, painting audible pictures for the listener.

The band was started by songwriter and guitarist Sveinung, along with vocalist Anja and bass player Tormod. Trond Espen and Marius joined the band some time later, and the band started collaborating with producer Stamos Koliousis on recording the debut album in 2017. The songs were recorded in their private studio in Bergen, as well as in RecPublica Studio in Poland.

Before the band started the process of recording albums, Secret Treehouse has performed an impressive amount of shows locally. Venues like Garage, Inside, Verftet, Hulen, Baran, Kafe Kalmar and Kvarteret have been visited. These performances has been driving the band in writing and creating their own musical universe. Now it is time for Secret Treehouse to get the music out to as many as possible.

The band name, Secret Treehouse, is about a form of escapism. The place you retire when you need some distance and escape from reality. It may be an abstract place, but just as well it could be a concrete place. Secret Treehouse is found in the contrasts between something lifeless urban, and something free and luxuriant, where it sprouts and grows like a light in the dark. Imagine a dark and industrial, sad and somewhat dead landscape, where there is a small spot that sprouts and grows, often with a treehouse as a cozy and warm place as opposed to the harsh and dark. But it does not have to be exemplified as a cabin. A Secret Treehouse is a place to escape to where there is room to create and create life. There is a place where you can breathe.

The album "The Big Rewind" is characterized by personal lyrics. Some of the texts are about rewinding in time, settling with themselves and their surroundings. The single Fear of Frogs is about fear of involuntarily misleading someone and hold them back from blossoming and reaching their goals. It is about a feeling of wanting to escape far, because one might end up destroying something by staying.
